Two other important facts about me and the way I see travel & life:
  1. In the end, we only regret the chances we didn't take.
  2. Travel is a never-ending education without boundaries. There’s a whole world out there of people who can teach us how to live better, simpler, happier, with more love, with more passion, and to live the lives we dream of.

Other less important things you might want to know:

After studying business and marketing at the University of Washington (woof! woof!) I worked at a telecom consulting firm for 3 years. In late 2010 I quit my job and decided to do a “Round the World” trip and start this blog to encourage others to live off the beaten path.

Less notably – I fell in love, spent about a year and a half living in/commuting back and forth from Israel. I worked in marketing and special projects for a U.S. company selling flags and banners.  I made great friends, I ate lots of hummus, and I had grand adventures from the Dead Sea to the Sea of Galilee.

More notably – upon being kicked out of Israel for lack of visa, I returned to the U.S. in search of my dream job.  I applied, along with 3,000 other applicants, for anybody’s dream job as Jauntaroo's Chief World Explorer.  My video application got over 20,000 votes and I was quickly and unexpectedly in the top 5 candidates and traveled to Abu Dhabi for interviews.

I didn't get the job, but I returned to Seattle more motivated than ever to continue pursuing my dreams to share amazing, life-changing travel & culinary experiences.  I took the plunge, starting my own business offering exclusive small group tours and custom private trips to international destinations.  First on the list – Malaysia & Singapore, complete with a fascinating mix of cultures and backgrounds that make for a fantastic culinary scene.  Next up?  Italy!
